A travel guide to an off-the-beaten-path, hidden gem known as the Siargao Lighthouse, an abandoned lighthouse on Pacifico Beach, Siargao.
Siargao is full of epic and iconic spots and attractions. However, being quite a small island, you wouldn’t expect to find many hidden gems such as this epic abandoned lighthouse on Pacifico Beach.
In this guide, I’ll outline everything you need to know about this epic little lighthouse including how to get here, what to expect and what it’s like climbing it!

About the Siargao Lighthouse
The Siargao Lighthouse is the only lighthouse on the island to my knowledge. We discovered it when exploring the island by bike and stopping by at Pacifico Beach.
Apparently, this lighthouse goes by a few names, including Siargao Lighthouse, Pacifico Lighthouse, and Tigasao Lighthouse.
This awesome, white lighthouse has a spiraling staircase leading to the top, which you can climb up. The views from the top are breathtaking and offers an awesome view of the Pacific Ocean.
The structure is quite run-down and I'd imagine it has been abandoned for quite some time.

Where is the Abandoned Lighthouse on Siargao?
You'll find the Siargao lighthouse on the far, northern end of Pacifico Beach. This beach is quite a stretch from General Luna, taking about 50 minutes to get here by motorbike.

If you drive to the north end of the beach, you'll see the Pacifico Lighthouse just around the bend poking above green shrubs near the headland.
How to Get to the Lighthouse
For independent explorers, rent a bike in General Luna for between 250-350 pesos per day. This is how I explored much of Siargao during my visits.
To get to the Siargao Lighthouse, you'll want to take the island's Circumferential Road all the way up the mainland, around the bend past Magpupungko Rock Pools and then make a right once you arrive at San Isidro (there are signs pointing the way to Pacifico). This ride is very scenic, passing rice fields, coconut plantation and quaint villages along the way.

What to Expect at the Abandoned lighthouse on Siargao
As soon as you arrive at the abandoned Siargao Lighthouse, you'll want to climb to the top! You can get a great view from the top of the staircase but I decided to climb up to the top of the perch.

The steel rail is very rusted in some sections so I wouldn't trust it to keep me from falling out!
The view is quite breathtaking. We visited on a day with pumping surf and we watched it roll in for a good half an hour before heading down!
I also got some time to fly my drone here to capture some unique perspectives of the Siargao Lighthouse on Pacifico Beach.

Having fun reading this article. Growing up in a small village of Pacifico and witnessing the changes everyday, the place, the people and it's values. I wish I can go back to the old times but that's how it is, we grow, we improve, and we change. Many People are now discovering this beautiful place, some are taking advantage and etc. Just hoping for good in Pacifico.
Light House was built about 9-10years ago funded by Coast Guard Agency but due to lack of budget for it's maintenance they closed it to public to avoid accidents in the area, they even put gate and lucks on it so the people can't go inside the light house. But, rusts were all over the metal parts of it that makes the cyclone fence and chain lucks broken. Though it was not safe, People still go inside and enjoyed the magnificent view from the light house.
Year 2016, a Foreigner couple start to build a huge Hotel and restaurant near the Light House, they call it "Trogon's Pearch" you can check them out on Instagram and Facebook. The Hotel and Restaurant was opened 3years ago for everyone with the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and of course the Light House.
