The Best Areas to Stay in Siargao
After weeks of exploring Siargao and staying in various accommodations, here are my top areas for travelers based on price and location to epic tourist spots.
These areas include:
- General Luna: 95% of visitors will pick to stay in General Luna, known for its surf breaks, restaurants, and nightlife. This is the main tourist hub on the island with great budget accommodation deals.
- Malinao: Just a short distance south of General Luna you'll find this hidden gem. Known for its stunning beaches and luxury resorts, it's a great choice for those looking for a more upscale stay.
- Santa Monica: Found on the northern tip of Siargao Island. If you choose Santa Monica you'll be closer to highlights like Taktak Waterfall, and Alegria Beach and be in an overall quieter location.
- Pacifico: This northeastern hub in San Isidrois is famous for its waves and laid-back vibe. Staying near Pacifico, you'll swap bustling cafes for local eateries and pumping nightlife for quiet beach sunsets.
If you want to live like a local, you can also check out Del Carmen or Dapa. These are the two main port towns in Siargao offering a few budget hotels and guest houses to stay at. However, I don't recommend staying in either of these towns as the options above are better.
