A Quick Rundown of Where to Stay in Siargao
Planning a trip and looking for a quick answer for where to stay in Siargao? I’d say that 95% of visitors will pick General Luna as their Siargao accommodation of choice. This is the main tourist hub on the island and where you’ll great hotels, resorts, guest houses, restaurants, bars, clubs, cafe’s and surf schools.
Siargao is also big enough to explore in a single (long) day by motorbike. Therefore, most people tend to base themselves in General Luna and explore the island from here on day trips.
If you scroll down, you’ll find a fairly long accommodation guide where I go into way more detail than this, but if you’re in a rush, you can’t go wrong with one of these picks:
Best Luxury Resort With a Pool: Las Palmas Villas & Casitas
Where to Stay close to Siargao’s Best Beaches: Kalipay Resort Siargao
Hotel on a Private Surf Beach: Surfing Carabao
Best Budget Accommodation: Ilakai Hostel
Most of the recommendations on this Siargao accommodation guide are in General Luna. However, if you want to find a hotel or resort on Siargao Island that’s away from it all, then you can also check out:
This northern hub is famous for huge waves and a much more laid-back vibe. Staying near Pacifico, you’ll swap bustling cafes for local eateries and pumping nightlife for quiet beach sunsets. There aren’t a tonne of facilities here but there are a few accommodation options.
Santa Monica is on the northern tip of Siargao Island where you’ll find a couple of hotels. Similarly to Pacifico, if you choose Santa Monica when planning where to stay in Siargao, you’ll have a much quieter time but you’ll be closer to highlights like Pacific Beach, Taktak Waterfall, and Alegria Beach.
If you want to live like a local, you can also check out Del Carmen or Dapa. These are the two main port towns on Siargao offering a few budget hotels and guest houses to stay at. However, I wouldn’t recommend staying at either of these towns as there are much better options on Siargao.
