Krabi Province in Southern Thailand is a popular holiday destination known for its beautiful beaches such as Phra Nang Beach in Railay and Klong Muang Beach. It is also famously known for fun outdoor activities like rock climbing, and water sports such as scuba diving.
Krabi has accommodation options ranging from budget hotels close to night markets, all the way to luxury hotels, and incredible 5-star Krabi resorts with giant infinity pools and private villas.
Krabi is one of the best places in Thailand due to its close location to both mountains and the ocean and it’s only a one-hour flight from Bangkok. My favorite area to stay in Krabi is Ao Nang due to its convenience for day trips to surrounding islands, adventure activities, and affordability.

BlueSotel SMART Krabi | $$
TAN Hostel | $ |
1. Anana Ecological Resort
Anana Ecological is one of Krabi's 5-star eco-friendly luxury resorts that you've been looking for.
As you can tell, being environmentally friendly is a huge part of this resort's ethos, and this is reflected in both the design of the hotel and the services they offer.
You will find smooth wooden floors throughout the comfortable rooms in the resort, along with gorgeous bath amenities made from organic ingredients to appreciate.
A distinctly fascinating place to visit inside the resort is the spa. Inside of here, they offer exceptionally high-quality massages, reaching the deepest levels of human relaxation.
It is impressive that this resort offers such outstanding services and facilities while maintaining its eco-friendly status. When combining this with the fact it is located in the Ao Nang area, it really does make a great place to stay.
2. BlueSotel SMART Krabi
BlueSotel SMART Krabi is arguably located in the best area in Ao Nang, considering it is a brief walk away from the town's most popular beach.
This hotel has its own fitness center which is remarkably large and features more than enough modern equipment for staying fit and healthy.
The most fascinating outdoor swimming pool is located directly on the rooftop, displaying staggering views of the surrounding areas, including the Andaman Sea and the nearby limestone cliffs.
For those looking to venture out to the surrounding areas be sure to make your way to the Ao Nang Monkey trail for sunset.
Striking a perfect balance between affordability and resourcefulness, BlueSotel certainly provides great value for the price paid here.
3. TAN Hostel
The Tan Hostel has its name for a reason, as it is just a 10-minute walk from the white sands of Ao Nang Beach.
A quirky fact about staying at this hostel is that it is also a café, offering healthy food options to choose from. This is handy for those times when you don't feel like cooking but are still taking your well-being into account.
When you are feeling more eager to cook, you will be happy to know that the Hostel/Café does have its own shared kitchen. This makes cooking meals simple for those times of need. Or for those looking for some authentic Thai food the Ao Nang Night Market is just a short 5-minute car journey away.
If you are searching for shared accommodation for the first time in Krabi, I would highly recommend staying at this hostel.
Railay & Tonsai - Best Options for Beaches and Rock Climbing
The perfect option for those looking to avoid busy streets and relax whilst having the option to explore viewpoints over Railay and lagoons with views over the unbeatable Phra Nang Beach.

Rayavadee | $$$$ | |
Tinidee Hideaway | $$$ | |
Blanco Hideout | $ |
4. Rayavadee
Rayavadee Resort is in its own lane when it comes to 5-star resorts near Railay Beach.
Especially if you choose one of their private villa options.
Many of these come with your own private pool, private bathroom, free wifi, and double room, along with more exclusive amenities such as room service for their pricier options.
Their largest luxury villa option is the Phranang Villa, which includes three private rooms, a private dining room, and its own dedicated butler service!
Furthermore, Rayavadee has stunning private gardens to explore, as well as hidden areas to relax, making it undoubtedly one of the best resorts in Krabi as a whole.
Its also just a short walk from Diamond Cave and Phra Nang Beach.
5. Tinidee Hideaway
Tinidee Hideaway is located directly next to Tonsai Beach, which of course, means it provides easy access to its white sands that are filled with palm trees.
What is especially surprising about staying here is the huge amount of facilities that are offered. This includes the hotel's private transfer service from Krabi Airport.
Although Tinidee isn't one of those stunning, 5-star luxury hotels like the others we have listed, the prices here are certainly reasonable. Especially when considering their on-site restaurant, which offers delicious Thai cuisine.
6. Blanco Hideout
Blanco Hideout is an alternative hostel option to Tan Hostel and Café.
An awesome aspect of staying here is the possibility of booking one of their bungalow dorms with a sea view.
This definitely spices up the overall social experience of booking a night, and it certainly makes a stay more memorable.
I believe this hostel would possibly be the best in Krabi and a perfect choice if it had double room options. However, it is still a good choice for those backpackers looking for a more social adventure whilst visiting Railay.
The hostel also runs a pub crawl for those party heads among us!
Krabi Town - Great location for Authentic Thai Experiences
Krabi Town offers mouth-watering food at its local markets and is only a short drive from the Tiger Cave Temple and Emeral Pool which was one of my favorite tours whilst visiting.
7. The Brown Hotel
The Brown Hotel is located close to Wat Kaew Korawaram, which is the largest Buddhist temple in Krabi and a popular tourist destination for visitors.
The hotel is practically right next to Maharaj Road, which is both the main road and the main street in Krabi Town.
This means you can find everything you need nearby such as bars with live music and local restaurants, it is also a short walk from Body Kneads which I recommend for a great massage.
Considering both the location and its inexpensive price, The Brown Hotel is a good place for budget backpackers due to its Central location in Krabi.
8. The Fong Krabi Resort
Another fantastic option when it comes to resorts in ideal locations is The Fong Krabi Resort.
Located close to Krabi Town, this makes the resort a perfect place to experience either relaxation or experience authentic Thai culture. There are plenty of Thai restaurants and cafes nearby or you may even want to try out a Thai massage.
If you are willing to pay the extra cost, the resort also offers its own large double room. This provides easy pool access along with cable TV and good air conditioning.
9. Chanchalay Hip Hostel
If you thought I stopped on the hostel options, here is another to add to the mix.
Chanchalay Hip Hostel is a unique place to stay considering it is just a few steps away from Chao Fah Park Pier. This makes getting to the infamous Mangrove Forest extremely easy, as longtail boats are readily accessible from here.
The hostel features a shared seating area and lounge, all while being clean and presentable for family and friends.
It is a great option for those not wanting to break the bank but still experience a comfortable stay.
Tubkaek - The Best Area to Stay for Luxury Hotels & Resorts
Staying in Tubkaek is a great option for families and groups looking to escape the crowds but still wanting to be close white sand beaches, hiking and restaurants.

Phulay Bay Ritz-Carlton | $$$$
The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort | $$$
Baan Tubkaek Hotel | $$ |
10. Phulay Bay Ritz-Carlton Reserve Resort
If you are seeking luxury, the Phulay Bay Ritz-Carlton Reserve has to be considered as an option.
This isn't suited for a budget, and this is reflected in the outstanding amenities and services that the resort offers.
One of these services is, of course, the Phulay Bay Spa located onsite. This spa features multiple hot tubs to indulge in, as well as outstanding therapies that are difficult to find elsewhere. There is a reason why the spa is seen as one of the top things to do while staying in this grandeur hotel.
Besides just this service, the resort has its very own gallery featuring rare artwork to feast your eyes on.
It also offers spacious family rooms which are much beyond any typical level of comfort with ocean views.
11. The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort
Are you a fan of fancy boutique hotels?
If you are, Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort should certainly be a strong contender for your consideration. This elegant hotel has an abundance of different elements to enjoy, and that isn't just limited to its range of fancy villas and suites.
One of the more surprising things you can do here is play sports, with yoga and even Thai boxing offered as a free activity during your stay.
The rooms here are shrouded in premium quality aesthetics and superior design to be appreciated.
The location is also perfect for those who enjoy nature as the starting point to the Dragon Crest Nature Hike is just a 10-minute walk away.
12. Baan Tubkaek Hotel
Baan Tubkaek Hotel is a simple and handy place to stay featuring a private beach area. One of the best things about staying here for a night has to be the epic Andaman Sea views.
To make your stay even better, there is a handy choice of cafés and restaurants nearby, all serving tasty local dishes to enlighten your tastebuds.
The hotel itself is equally handy, providing double rooms with plush bedding and free parking for all guests.
Koh Lanta - The Best Area for White Sand Beaches
Koh Lanta is a lesser-known island that boasts beautiful beaches, epic day tours, and beachside bars. It is another great area for groups and families or those looking for a tropical paradise to relax.
13. Layana Resort & Spa - Adult Only
Layana Resort & Spa is a special adult-only 5-star luxury accommodation option.
One of the most surprising parts about booking a stay here is the huge choice of different rooms, villas, and suites on offer. There is a delightful range to choose from, with their Ocean Deluxe villa being one of the largest options in the entire resort.
The villa offers a stunning master bedroom, along with its very own jacuzzi and modern lounge area to wind down in.
14. Long Beach Chalet
Long Beach Chalet Resort is essentially a group of 63 chalets, located in relaxing and natural surroundings close to Koh Lanta's Long Beach.
One of the drawbacks of staying here is that the resort doesn't have many activities to do. Especially when comparing it with places such as Tubkaak Resort, which allows its guests to play exclusive sports for free.
I would say this is a great hotel for both minimalists and people who enjoy natural living.
If you are planning on booking a chalet here close to the beach, it is best to get one in their beach-front zone. The accommodation here is equally as stunning as the beachfront views you get from your door.
15. Hub of Joys Hostel
Hub of Joys Hostel is an extremely affordable hostel option located on Koh Lanta Island.
One of the most significant benefits of staying here would of course be the price that you pay for a night. However, the hostel's rooms are surprisingly very modern and cleanly designed for budget travel.
When combining the fact that you can meet new people here with the tasty free breakfast provided with the room price, it actually turns out to be a pretty sweet deal for the money paid.
Hub of Joys is definitely recommended for those backpackers who want more wiggle room for their budgets.
Koh Phi Phi - Best Area to Stay to Explore the Phi Phi Islands
Phi Phi is an adventurer's playground for exploring crystal clear waters. I found that the best part about staying here was you have most areas to yourself once the tours return to the mainland at the end of each day.
Hotel | Price | |

Zeavola Resort | $$$ | |
SAii Phi Phi Island Village | $$
Sweed Dee Hostel | $ |
16. Zeavola Resort
Zeavola Resort truly has a lot going for it in the luxury resort department, and the amenities it offers make it a top-pick in Koh Phi Phi and possibly all of Krabi in terms of 5-star resorts.
Besides the ability to take scuba diving courses with the resort, Zeavola also offers private island excursions for their guests. These trips include nearby islands that are uninhabited, and rarely seen by the general public.
The next exciting aspect of this resort is its two different restaurants, serving both Mediterranean and Thai cuisine. These provide their guests with options, and you can expect scrumptious and satisfying food from either one of them.
Finally, a description of Zeavola wouldn't be complete without an in-depth dive into their accommodation options. These start with their smallest option known as the Village Suite, leading up to their largest known as the Pool Villa Suite.
One thing is for sure though, you won't regret booking a night here!
17. SAii Phi Phi Island Village
When talking about impressive resorts with an abundance of amenities, SAii Phi Phi Island Village is another that simply cannot be ignored.
There are a lot of fun activities to do onsite here, with the tennis courts being possibly the most impressive. Yes, this 5-star resort does in fact have its own tennis courts, and guests are welcome to use them freely as they wish.
As you might have guessed, this is located in a forest on a hill, combining the forces of nature with human energy creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
It is also necessary to mention that most of this hotel's accommodation options are capacious. Even their Garden Bungalow offers its own balcony which is roomy enough for two people.
18. Sweed Dee Hostel
Sweed Dee Hostel is on the pricier end of the scale when it comes to Krabi Hostels. However, there is no denying that it is a pleasant hostel to stay in for backpackers and tourists.
The location is decent here, considering it is less than one kilometer from Ton Sai Beach. In addition to this, it is close to Loh Dalum Beach which is well-known for being a party area among travelers and locals alike. It is also a great base for those wanting to explore the nearby islands or Phileh Lagoon.
Some of the best travel memories consist of partying and having fun with new friends, so this combination together is certainly fitting if that is your thing to do.
If you happen to be looking for a cheap place to stay a night near Ton Sai Beach, don't forget to check out Sweed Dee Hostel as an option.
