Discover where to stay in Queenstown, New Zealand. From hotels overlooking Lake Wakatipu to luxury retreats with hot tubs and great value budget backpacker accommodations.
Queenstown is New Zealand’s adventure capital, and perhaps one of the most scenic mountain towns in the world. There’s an abundance of activities and things to do, from skiing to hiking to just enjoying the ambiance of The Remarkables Mountain Range above beautiful Lake Wakatipu during your stay.
Due to Queenstown being a small town, staying in the town center or nearby neighborhoods is convenient. Choose a hotel or hostel downtown in Fern Hill, or Frankton for nightlife, restaurants, and being close to the action. If you’re planning to ski, consider lodging in Arrowtown or Shotover. Each area offers unique advantages, ensuring you’ll find the perfect spot for your stay.
A top pick of mine was the Black Sheep Backpackers for its budget price and location to nearby hiking trails.
