10 BEST Lakes in Oklahoma with Lakefront Cabin Rentals

Olly Gaspar

By Olly Gaspar, full-time traveler for 6 years. I visit every place I write about & share real tips, photos, & advice from my trips.

From its rolling hills and prairies in the east to the rugged landscapes and high plains in the west, Oklahoma is home to over 200 lakes!

Spread across more than a million surface acres of water, Oklahoma offers an uncrowded lakeside getaway ideal for boating, swimming, fishing, or relaxing in a private cabin by the water. Below I’ve listed some of my favorite lakes in Oklahoma with cabins you can rent to help you plan your idyllic getaway to nature!

My personal favorites are Broken Bow Lake in Beavers Bend State Park for its deep, clear waters and great cabin options like Broken Bow Hideaway. While Lake Murray has cabins with private docks for fishing such as this 3 Bedroom Lake Home with room for the whole family.

1. Broken Bow Lake

Nestled in the southeastern corner of Oklahoma, the clear and deep Broken Bow Lake is set against a stunning backdrop of the lush Ouachita Mountains. Conveniently located near Broken Bow City, Broken Bow Lake offers a peaceful nature escape while being relatively close to grocery stores, quaint cafes, and useful amenities.

Broken Bow Lake is a great choice for an Oklahoma cabin retreat filled with diverse outdoor activities including fishing and kayaking in the clear waters, hiking its many nature trails, horse riding, or even a few rounds of golf at Cedar Creek Golf Course within Beavers Bend State Park.

The cabins at Broken Bow Lake range from rustic hideaways to luxury retreats. And, thanks to its enormous size, most cabins offer direct access to the water, many with private docks for fishing or boating.
