All 404 hotel rooms and suites offer private bathrooms and panoramic Nile River views. If you have the funds to choose an upgrade I highly recommend it for this hotel as the services and rooms are on another level of luxury!

Additionally, the hotel offers babysitting services for those traveling with children who would like to spend the night relaxing by one of the three on-site bars or eating at one of the four 5-star restaurants!

Tip: Have you got spare time? one of the best things about Aswan was visiting the Nubian Village. On my visit, I met with local Nubian people who showed me the traditional ways of life which was an eye-opening experience. I recommend a visit here!

If you're a literature fanatic, you may recognize the name of this hotel as it's where Agatha Christie wrote Death on the Nile. This made my list again for 2025 as a top pick due to its vibrant grounds and luxurious facilities.

For the ultimate luxury experience, look no further than Sofitel Legend Old Cataract, one of the most breathtaking Aswan 5-star hotels.

Located in the Nubian Desert on the banks of the Nile opposite Elephantine Island, this luxurious hotel offers elegant rooms and suites. Rooms feature air-conditioning, free wi-fi, and stunning views over the garden or river.

Boasting an outdoor and indoor pool, guests can spend their days swimming or relaxing in the sauna, the hammam, or the hot tub. There is also an on-site fitness center for those wanting to keep up their active lifestyle.

The hotel has four restaurants serving international and oriental breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are also four bars onsite boasting stunning views over the river.

Each guest room has a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and free Wi-Fi. During my stay, Amira was able to advise me on the best things to do in the area which was helpful coming from a local as she sprinkled in some hidden gems.

A point of interest near the accommodation is the Nubian Museum, which is 700 m away.

Located in Kornish Al Nile, Citymax Hotel Aswan is situated on the banks of the Nile and boasts stunning views from its rooftop swimming pool which I must admit grows more beautiful at sunset.

This 4-star hotel also features a sauna, a restaurant serving Middle Eastern cuisine, and free private parking. All guest rooms have free Wi-Fi, a TV, and a desk. Some rooms also feature river views which I suggest asking for when arriving if possible.

It is in a great location for those looking to explore the must-see landmarks in Aswan.

The front desk is open 24 hours and the Arabic, French, and English-speaking staff are always there to help.

5. Aswan Nile Palace

  • Location: Aswan Promenade
  • Best For: Budget-conscious travelers wanting river or city views

Want to know where to stay in Aswan, Egypt with city and river views from a private balcony? Look no further than Aswan Nile Palace.

Tip: Head to the lesser visited Sehel Island and visit the Famine Stela which is an inscription written in Egyptian hieroglyphs on a rock. Tours can be organized and I highly recommend spending a few hours exploring this area.

Guests can join walking tours to explore the island or simply relax and take in the views. A delicious breakfast is available for an extra cost however I highly recommend it as it was delicious during my stay.

Located on Elephantine Island, this delightful property has many available rooms for great value! All units have a TV with satellite channels, while others have a seating area where you can soak up the views of the river.

Guests can start the day with a delicious breakfast before exploring the island or taking a Nile River Cruise.

This is one of the cheapest options I've included in this hotel roundup. If you're looking for a low-cost choice this is perfect (keep in mind this is on an island) guest houses are by no means luxury however they offer great value for money.

  • Best For: Small groups & couples looking to stay further from the main center

Experience world-class service at one of the top luxury hotels in Aswan.

Located on the Nile River in downtown Aswan, this 5-star resort's main drawing card is its beautiful views of the Nile from its swimming pool.

Each of the rooms at this hotel features a satellite TV, a minibar, and an en-suite bathroom. Guests can indulge in the luxury of every room having a balcony with spectacular Nile views.

As well as a large outdoor swimming pool, guests can keep busy at this hotel exercising in the fully equipped gym, playing table tennis or bowling, and enjoying a film in the cinema. The hotel's health club also boasts a sauna, a steam bath, and various massage treatments.

During my stay I found the staff to be attentive and the overall atmosphere relaxing. I took a small boat tour from the hotel for sunset which turned out to be one of the highlights of this visit.

A trip to the Temple of Philae is a non-negotiable if you ask me. This was one of the most breathtaking temples in all of Egypt. With its intricate hieroglyphs and unique location you'll lose track of time exploring the grounds.

Must Visit: The Temple of Philae - Open from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tickets for Adults are EGP 450 & Students EGP 230. If you're staying on Philae Island I suggest getting a boat to Agilkia Island (the location of the Temple of Philae) as early as possible as you will beat the crowds and tours.
